At DMA Engineering I’m the founder, CEO, and Principal Engineer. DMA Engineering solves the challenges of providing efficient Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Designs and High Performing Building envelopes. Most of our clients are looking for a path to choose the most appropriate heating and cooling system with the best performing building. We help them with this decision by performing energy analysis of their building, performing life cycle analysis of various different building insulation schemes and mechanical systems, and reporting back to them a fully engineered solution that outlines the savings in dollars. One recent client described us as, “a progressive engineering firm that can think outside of the box.”
My family has been in Colorado since the early 1900s and my maternal grandfather loved to fish Brush Creek Pass. We used to frequent Riley’s Ranch (now the Diamond J). Those family trips introduced me to Carbondale, Basalt, and Aspen. Stays in Glenwood visiting the hot springs and breakfast at the Village Smithy in Carbondale are fond memories of my youth. Ski and Stay trips at Sunlight with my nieces and nephews became a staple winter holiday when they were all young. Now my wife Kelly and I climb in Rifle and Main Elk and soak at Iron Mountain as we prepare to make our transition from the Front Range to the Western Slope in our later years.
I’m a fortunate soul, who at a very young age, knew I wanted to be an engineer. My personality dictated my choice to also become an entrepreneur. My ‘hippiness’ and love of the outdoors drive my passion to make buildings energy efficient and have the lowest environmental impact possible.
